Hey there, my name is Ethan and I am a Chicago based sound designer.
I am obsessed with the nature and unique behaviors of sound. There is a certain quality of presence which sound provides. I enjoy exploring how we can use sound to create that sense of presence in a way that can be felt physically.
My sounds consist of many bells and chimes. I like to utilize meditation tools/instruments such as tuning forks and singing bowls. I especially enjoy using these sounds to convey a sense of space and I think that they help tell a very direct yet abstract story depending on the moment they are utilized.
I have done work on live action films as well as animation. Both hold a special place in my heart. I as well enjoy using sound to tell stories without picture. Lately I have been exploring how I can bring sound to life by utilizing 5.1 surround sound environments.
